Back on August 30, 2008, I went with my in-laws to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. I LOVE roller coasters, and we had a great time screaming our heads off.
Here is a little video I put together of some of the sights and sounds from Silver Dollar City!
To get to the actual park, they have a few parking lots and you have to take a school bus to get to the main entrance. This is my Father-in-Law!
They had a really nice and clean park with interesting pathways that lead to beautiful scenes like this waterfall, which we found on our way to our first Roller Coaster: Wildfire!
After we rode Wildfire another time, we decided to head on over to the next Roller Coaster at Silver Dollar City, Powder Keg! This is one of those coasters that starts off by accelerating you to about 60mph! I LOVE those!
While my Father-in-Law and I were waiting in Line for the Big Swing, we came across this great sign:
After riding a few other rides, we decided to stop and get a bite to eat. They had some really interesting (and good) places to eat. I got this interesting “salad” (quotes because salads to me don’t have meat)!
After that we decided that is was getting hot, so we took a ride on the Waterworks Waterboggan, although it took some convincing to get my Sister-in-Law to ride it. My wife is not a fan of water rides or roller coasters, so she didn’t ride anything.
Needless to say, I was WET!!!
Once we dried off, we decided to go to the attraction that made Silver Dollar City what it is today, the CAVES!!! PS. I love Caves!
(I thought that I had more pics of the caves, but I can’t find them)
After walking down the longest staircase ever, we made it back to our car to take a nap before we went to eat a steak!
Unfortuntatly my steak was over cooked, but everything else was good!
We had a great time at Silver Dollar City, and after I posted my roller coaster videos to YouTube, someone told me about a Roller Coaster that is hidden in the back of the park that I didn’t even see called Thunderation.
Have you been to Silver Dollar City? If so, what were your favorite rides/attaction? If not, do you want to go?
