Sorry I haven’t posted much lately, but after my wife and I got back from Phoenix, AZ for PodcampAZ, my wife got sick (headcold, sore throat, snotty nose). Then a few days later I got it.
My wife and I had a great time in Phoenix!
PodcampAZ – Day 1:
PodcampAZ – Day 2:
While I was at PodcampAZ, I got to meet two awesome guys who I had been following for about 2 years now:
Clintus is a video blogger, father, and attention whore! He gave a session at PodcampAZ called Video Blogging on the Go. We first met when he was streaming on Justin.tv and my wife & I began watching all of his videos of him and his kids! You NEED to subscribe to his YouTube channel.
Ohdoctah (AKA Owen JJ Stone) and I first met on Viddler, where he and Jay Glock created a video series called AskOhDoctah. They basically goof off, answer questions that people have and give their opinion on anything and everything. Make SURE you check out his website AskOhDoctah.
[PodcampAZ Image coming soon]
If you want to watch any of the sessions that I attended at PodcampAZ, you can find them all on the LaneVids UStream Channel.
After PodcampAZ, we spent an extra day in Phoenix to check out the city. We had some fun at the Science Center!
Outside of the Science Center in Downtown Phoenix, AZ, they had these great statues of insects. A Millipede, a Scorpion, and (I think) a Grasshopper.
In the My Digital Life exhibit in the Science Center, we had a little fun messing around with our faces! I consider this my Mad Scientist look!

After we left the Science Center, we went to the ASU campus and ate a Sandwich and Salad at Crave. After that we roamed around the city, exploring, and we found this weird structure hanging in the sky, which after learning more about it, is supposed to represent Monsoon Clouds.

What do you think, does this structure look like a good representation of Monsoon Clounds?

After roaming the city and riding the new lite rail that is only 6 months old and is surprisingly VERY CLEAN, we ate dinner at a Thai restaurant that we found on Yelp! called Thai Elephant!
We shared some Egg rolls which were really good, and I had the Pad Thai with Calamari. I did not like the Calamari, but the rest of the dish was GREAT. I never had Calamari that was not friend, so I figured that I would test it out. it was more rubbery than I expected it to be.
This is Krista’s dish that she had from the Thai Elephant. I don’t remember what it is called, but is was REALLY GOOD! A very fresh and clean taste!
Speaking of food, the hotel that we stayed at, the Inn Suites on Baseline, had a breakfast every morning that was really great and extensive.

And on Saturday night, we went to the 5 & Diner and had a great Hamburger and shared a Pumpkin Pie Milkshake with Chocolate Ice Cream! My wife thought that I was crazy for asking the waiter if I could get it made with Chocolate Ice Cream, but it was worth it!

Then we left.
