Florida Welcome Center I-10

August 26, 2016

On our road trip from Louisiana to Florida, we needed to stretch our legs and walk around. We stopped at the Florida Welcome Center at I-10 in Pensacola, FL. WOW! This welcome center was incredible!

As you drive up to the Florida Welcome Center, the first thing that you see is a huge plane statue. There are also a lot of other statues and photo opportunities in an around this welcome center.

There is also a turtle statue thing right next to the entrance doors. I took a picture next to because it just looks pretty neat. The turtles name is Myrtle … #Myrtletheturtle

Next, when we entered the Florida Welcome Center, the kids found a small play area that was perfect for them. They had been riding in the car for so long and need some playtime. Since the kids found some fun toys to play with, my wife and I browse around at all of the brochures and pamphlets of things to do in Florida.

After a while, we take a fun picture with the NASA astronaut statue. We also get some free orange juice and grapefruit juice from the ladies at the help desk. You have to love anything that’s free, right?

In addition to taking a picture with the astronaut, there is also a picture booth that has some fun Florida themes. Here are a few of the pictures we took.

Next we find the vending machines. They have an ice cream vending machine at the Florida Welcome Center. We decide that everyone needed a little treat before getting back on the road. We got our ice cream and take it outside to the picnic benches and enjoy some ice cream as a family.

Finally, it was time to leave the Florida Welcome Center. We get back into the car and continue our journey eastward through Florida. Here is a video that I put together of our time at the Florida Welcome Center so that you can get a better idea of everything that they have to offer here.

Ocean Adventures with LaneVids – Part 3

June 16, 2010

Alright guys! This year we are in New Smyrna Beach, FL (Guy’s Trip), which is the Atlantic side of Florida. It’s time to see what is out in Shark Territory… can we find JESUS?!? Or did he get eaten by a SHARK!?

If you missed the previous Ocean Adventures, then make sure to watch Part 1 and Part 2!

…and keep your eyes peeled for Part 4 later on THIS YEAR! (if oil is not around)!

New Smyrna Beach, FL

June 14, 2010

My friends and I took a Guy’s Trip down to New Smyrna Beach, FL. Aside from the crappy Delta flights, we had a great time!

I decided to do some vlogging in the airplane’s bathroom, but I should have peed all over the bathroom because it was a Delta Airlines flight (more about my hatred for them in a future post).

Once we were on the beach sipping Coronas and playing Botchi Ball, thing were definitely on the up and up!

The RAD doing it Right!

Big Philly G Flexin’

… and me being the uber-nerd that I am, playing Guess Who!

Phil found Guess Who in the owners room, and we played this when we were really young, so we broke it out and played a game or two, (or three)…

It was a good time!>

Ohh… yeah…

Bobby was there too!

…and so was Phil’s brother, Chris!

One other friend was with us, but he does not want his face on the internet, so :::in Soup Nazi voice::: “No Pics for You!”

Aside from sitting on the beach, we ate at Hooter’s when we arrived, then the next day we had some sandwiches from an AWESOME bakery and ate at a place called Breakers. On the last day we ate at some Italian place and on the way back to Phil’s, we stopped at Wing House and had some bad service. If you want to see everywhere I went, follow me on Gowalla or Foursquare!

All in all, the trip was a Great Success!

Our last stop on our 5 week journey is in Atlanta, GA with my Aunt and Uncle. Please add him as a friend on MySpace. He is a great musician!

Then it is back home, just in time to take my sister-in-law for a week so that my in-laws can go to Sturges!
