Hey! We love exploring our home state, and in 2017 we went to Northeast Louisiana and stayed at the Mansion at Red Hill because it’s very close to a World Heritage Site called Poverty Point.
The Mansion at Red Hill is an absolutely beautiful B&B to stay. They have a lake on the property and a stable with horses just to name a few of the amenities.
This Mansion is minutes from Poverty Point, a World Heritage Site, which I am excited to explore. While we are spending the night in this beautiful mansion, I take you on an AirBNB tour of Mansion at Red Hill, and we also made it in time for Tea Time!
We are exploring these mysterious indian mounds at Poverty Point with our kids, and you must see these indian mounds if you are ever in Louisiana.
The place that we are at today is called Poverty Point, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and there is so much ancient history here. There are many things that you can explore at Poverty Point.
Some things that we did are:
Hiking the Indian Mound
Taking a Tram Ride
Earning a Junior Ranger Badge
Having a Picnic
Exploring the Museum
They also have some special event days where they show you how the native americans would do certain tasks while living at Poverty Point. What really struck me about Poverty Point was how ancient this place really is. It is dated back 4000 years before Jesus Christ, Hinduism, and the Olmecs.
