Guadalupe Mountains National Park
First Visit to Guadalupe Mountains National Park
We've arrived at the Guadalupe Mountains National Park, and we're going to explore it with the kids. Because there is currently a wildfire in the park, most of the northern part of the park is closed, so we're going to try to do something around here.
We're taking it to new heights.
Today plan is to finish the Junior Ranger book. Even though she already has the badge, she enjoys the activities there. Then we're going to try to hike Devil's Hall. I'm not sure how far we'll get because it's about a four-mile hike with little elevation change. We'll see if we can do it with three kids. This is going to be interesting. First, we needed to get our hiking gear. We'll probably put some snacks in it. We refilled our water bottles. It's time to go hiking.
A new place, a new memory. We are uniting as a family.
You have to do difficult things to put yourself to the test. This is similar to taking a test in school. We're currently putting your hiking skills to the test. I believe you are at a level three. Some people, such as Lewis and Clark, forge their paths. They'd get a 50.
I'm in desperate need of water. This morning, we should have arrived much earlier. It's getting hot out here on this trip.
Get free national park entry.
Because Amelia is in fourth grade, we get free admission to all national parks. And if you're in fourth grade, there's a fourth-grade kid in every park initiative they do. You have to go to the website and print out the voucher, which you can then leave on your dashboard or give to the person at the window. And the entire family, up to two extra kids and a couple of parents, can get in for free. As a result, everything works out perfectly.
