What's it Like: Sledding Steep Dunes at White Sands for the First Time

We were at White Sands National Park, and this is what it's like to ride some sleds down the sand dunes. In short: it was awesome!
The sand dunes are not actually sand. It's called gypsum. I guess it's a type of sand.
This is incredible! This was the first sand dune. It was super fun and exhausting. Now, we're gonna try and find the bigger sand dunes.
And we'll be having lunch here as well. They've scattered these little picnic tables all over the place. You can pull right up next to them and have a picnic.
This is something that many travel vloggers do not show. You have to walk all the way around the dune once you've gone down the hill to get to the less steep part. There, it's not as hot. The sun was beating down when we went, and it's not fun.
So there are a few things we'd like to tell you before you come here. First, you can buy either a new or a used sled. Once you're done, you can keep it. But they give you a magnet if you return it. Sleds cost $20. If you ask someone behind the counter, you can get a used one for $15. However, you cannot rent one.
One of the warnings we read was that people should bring water and drink a lot of it. But if you drink a lot of water and don't eat anything, especially food without salt, it's not good for your body. You end up making a hypotonic solution, so your cells swell with water and begin to burst. In turn, you can get severe headaches and nausea. It can even lead to death if you drink tons and tons and tons of water without eating anything. So you're supposed to eat something along with drinking water.
Since we have this new cargo carrier, we decided to buy stickers at various locations. This one costs $3.99, so we put that on.
Whenever you return your sled, you get a cool magnet, which normally costs $6.99, for free. If you buy the used sled, it's equivalent to a $15 magnet.
