- Hey, dads!

Are you looking for a little action camera that you can use whenever you're out and about with your family?

I want to talk about the one that I use in this video and I really, really like it.

First of all, for all the new people here, this is Dad Reviews and I basically review things in a very authentic way without any editing so that you can have a more authentic experience here.

And today, I want to review my GoPro. It's a GoPro 4 session (Amazon).

I've had it for-- (sighs) Oh, gosh! Couple years now and I really like it because first of all, it's small and compact.

So if you need to get it into anywhere, you can basically kind of palm it in your hand like this and then just like walk into a store or something.

If you can try and do something a little sneaky or whatever, but works great for that, does have a bunch of different mounts that you can get forward. It comes with one of these cages. It slides in really easily. You lock it down and then you can bend these all around.

This one happens to be an arm band or you could actually use-- What I've used it for is like opening it up and putting it around the pole. And then you can angle it however you like and do like a time-lapse shot or something like that.

But all in all, this is a great little camera. Does a 1440 is the highest quality it does? I think at 30 frames per second, it does like 1080 and lower has some slow-mo features that I never used.

It is waterproof so you can bring it down into the water. It's got a little door right here. This is the gasket on it right there. And then you have your power cord right there where you plug in and then you have a micro SD card that you're going to need to get right there.

(sighs) By the way, I'ma link all this up down in the description below. If you guys want to read more reviews on it or check it out anymore,

I just figured I wanted to give you guys my authentic review here. On the lens here, I've had like I said, I've had this thing for a while on the lens. I've noticed that there are couple little tiny, tiny scratches.

You all probably can't see it on there in the glare but they--

I noticed that they don't really show up on the video, which is good. I don't know how they got there. I carried around in my pocket a lot so it may have gotten scuffed on like my keys or something like that. But I just wanted to make note that that mark is there.

I don't know how it got there but that's the only mark that I see so that's good.

Let's see. I wanted to say about this here on the housing that they give you. So the way it works is these little screws come out and then this thing pops out.

Now it's supposed to have two little nougats here that slide into this part right here. Then you tighten it that way but this little nougat right here broke off. So I just kind of have to put it in there as a placeholder because I need the pressure of it to be able to hold the thing on so I could glue it back. I just haven't done it yet.

I just think at that’s kind of a frustration.

I really wish that it wasn't made out of plastic. I don't know if I tightened it too hard or what one day whenever I was trying to get it set up but that is one of the downfalls of this.

Other than that though, I mean, gosh! I think I've dropped this thing. I've let the kids use it. I've used it. Has great quality.

Oh, the audio. Let's talk about audio real quick. The audio is not that great on it. Whenever it's like a really far distance, it done have a good... I guess it's omni-directional microphone on it  but I will say that it does have a camera-- not a camera.

A microphone in the back and on the front. And I think there's three of 'em if I'm not mistaken.

So if like one of them is not doing so great, it picks up on the other one so it does a good job

of equalizing everything, I will say. I've heard that the microphone is a step up though from the GoPro Hero 3 maybe, I think it's what it was. I'd love to test out the session five. I just don't have one yet.

But all in all, I got to say that for the price, I paid $200 for it. It's probably even less now. I bet you can get it on Amazon for even cheaper than that.

By the way, the link down below. This is just a great little camera that you can take around. And especially if you’re doing like sports stuff with your kids, you know. If you're at in a kid plays baseball and you want to show 'em how they bat, you can actually strap this thing on to the back and watch him swing. You know, you can put it on their wrist while they're catching, a glove, with the glove baseball and all that. I mean, if you want to do like soccer, you could strap it to their legs and get the kicking action. You can mount it to your surf board if you're a surfer. And there's just so many possibilities with it.

And there's so many like little accessories that you can put with it. There's like a suction cup thing. There's a-- You can get a selfie stick thing. It's just-- there's a lot of possibilities.

I will say that one thing that I haven't really explored yet and I don't think is available is some kind of audio input for it. That would be really nice if you wanted to get a better microphone for it but that will take way from like how easily accessible and compact it is.

There's only two buttons on here. This top button here will start your video or take your picture depending on like, I think it's how you have your setting set up and to set up those settings, you have to connect it to a smartphone to be able to do that which that can be a little frustrating but I usually never go back to get the phone application. Even if I'm trying to frame it up, I'll leave it on the wide frame so that it catches everything. And then, I don't even use my phone to try and use the screen to see what exactly I'm doing.

The second button here is this one right here and this is to where you can rock your settings in camera. It's a little tough to use cause it's just one buttons. You have to learn how to kind of cycle through everything between this button and this button back here.

But basically, this button takes you to the menu. And then whenever you get to settings, you press this button and then you can change your settings. You can go to different ones,

it'll highlight which thing you want to change and then you press the button to change it. I don't want to change anything now so I'm going to just leave it on a done.

So whenever you're done, you just hit done and then it goes away.

So that's my review of the GoPro. Oh! The battery life on it.

I've-- I do a lot of time-lapse shots every now and again. And I've let it go for like an hour,

maybe even lo-- I mean, it's got to be longer than that of like pure recording. Can't remember if that was 10 ADP or 1440 but it goes for quite a long time. I charge mine pretty much every time, you know, after I use it but I've noticed that the battery life is really good.

I don't have any specifics but I can tell you that I get through like whenever we travel, I get through a traveling day with it. So I like--

You can see on here too. I think that, yeah, all these white things here that scuffs so it's gotten scuffed up but it's never really messed up anything camera wise to be able to affect the quality of the camera or anything like that.

So that's it. That's all I have to say about this. I really like it. If you want to check it out, link in the description below.

Question of the day. Have you guys ever used a GoPro before? Let me know down in the comments below. Simple yes or no and let me know which one you used. How about that?
