The museum is large and there are many stairs and an elevator to make getting around easier. The other exhibits throughout the aircraft carrier are more narrow, so kids won’t have as much freedom to run around.

How long does it take to go through the USS Lexington?
According to the internet, it takes about two to three hours to go through the entire USS Lexington Museum. The self- guided tour allows visitors to explore the ship at their own pace. There are 11 different exhibit areas on the tour, each with something unique to see. Plan on spending at least 30 minutes in each exhibit area.
We arrived at 9am and stayed until noon. We got to see most of the ship, but with 3 kids in tow, we finished all but one of the exhibits. Our 3 year old was tired after walking around the ship all morning and it was time for his nap.
Do you have to pay to get on the USS Lexington?
The USS Lexington is open every day of the year except for Thanksgiving and Christmas. To get on the ship, it costs $18.95 for adults 18+, $16.95 for seniors (60+), military for $14.95 (with ID), $16.95 for youth ages 13-18, and $13.95 for children ages 4-12. Members and children age 3 and under are free. All day parking is $5, but there is also plenty of free parking on the street nearby if you want to save a little cash.
