Roller Coasters & Water Slides at Blue Bayou Dixie Landin'

We're taking a gamble today. The weather in Baton Rouge is supposed to be a little rainy, and we're going to Blue Bayou Dixie Landin'.

It's saying there's a 40% chance of rain, and that's one of those percentages where you don't know what will happen. Usually, 60% means it will rain, and 30% means you'll get a little sprinkle. 40-50% are areas where you're not sure.

I hope the rain stays back because I want to ride the roller coasters. Usually, they turn off roller coasters once the rain starts, but we can ride some water slides. One of the main things that I'm coming for is the new Aqua Loop ride.

I got a locker, and I need to find my underwater camera and put it together. Now, let's ride some slides! It's going to be fun. I'll ride the Aqua Loop first. It looks scary. You're inside a capsule.

Kanja

Kanja was fun and had me flipping all over the place. The Aqua Loop was the first ride I went on, and I could not find it. You have to walk around Kanja to get on it, and it took me forever. I want to ride the roller coasters, but I need to eat lunch first. I have lunch with me in the car because I don't want to pay the prices here.

Mambo

The Aqua Loop ride is called Mambo, and it's awesome. There are just a few of these in the US. There's one in Australia and the one here. It is so much fun. It's probably the best ride in the park.

More Slides

On Lafitte's Plunge, you go almost straight down. It's the one to ride if you like a thrill. On Azuka racers, you race down the slide on a mat, which I'd never done before. I was surprised at how much I liked that one. It wasn't the best, but it was fun nonetheless.

Mad Moccasin is an old school ride that's been around for a while. I forgot how fun it was. The Flying Pirogue was a fun one. Voodoo, the red and black slide, is supposed to be one of the better rides here. It looks dizzy inside, and it's got a weird bowl thing. I've never been on anything like it before, so it should be fun.

The High Water ride is not as scary as I expected. It's not as scary as other slides, but it's still fun. I've always noticed the Mad Moccasin at Blue Bayou because of the snakeheads on top. It's quite tall and considered a signature ride. I think it's been here ever since the park opened.

The Awesome Twosome doesn't allow single riders, so I need to find a partner. I found myself a buddy named Kobe, and we're going to check out the slide. It's been a while since I rode this one, so it should be a good time. Kobe just joined YouTube about two days ago, so he's going to go check out my channel. He's awesome.

We've done all the water slides, so we'll go chill in the lazy river for a while. It's going to be nice. Have you ever been to Blue Bayou? I got dressed, I'm going to eat something, and Dixie Landin' should open in about an hour, and We're going to ride the roller coasters.

Dixie Landin' Coasters

I'm excited about the roller coasters. It's just drizzling now, so I think that the rides will be open. I need to go over to Dixie Landin and check it out. Guilbeau Galaxy is a steel mouse coaster. It's interesting being inside Dixie Landin' when there's nobody here because it seems so dead. It reminds me of Six Flags New Orleans, which got ruined during Hurricane Katrina.

There are two more roller coasters here I don't know the names of. There's a red one, a green one, and the Ragin' Cajun. I don't know the technical name for this kind of coaster, but I call it a boomerang. The first time I rode one was at Knott's Berry Farm in California, and it was called the Boomerang. It's one of those coasters that loops, goes this way and that, and then goes backward and loops some more.

This park has a lot of fair-type rides, like the swings and little carts. They have a Tilt-a-Whirl, a Ferris wheel, and some kiddy rides. It's not the biggest park, but you get the water park and the amusement park at one price, which is not a bad deal. They have one of those rides where you shoot up and bounce. Those are always fun. The carousel is closed. Maybe we'll ride one of the kiddy rides if we have time. It might be fun to be kids again. There's another ride here called Splinter. It's a water log flume ride, but it just goes up, down, around, and doesn't do that much.

I was about to go on the Xtreme coaster, but one of the cars got stuck, so they had to take us out. The Ragin' Cajun isn't open yet. I'm having bad luck today. They got the carts going up. It looks like it's working.

Loco Loco

We're riding the Loco Loco all by ourselves. There was no one with us. Let's see if we can find another coaster to ride, preferably one with some people. I got on another ride, and the car right before us got stuck, so we had to get off again. This is so annoying. I have a curse on me today.

I went on the Ragin' Cajun, and it was fun. Third time's a charm. Next, I got on Xtreme. It was fun to finally ride it after it broke down twice. It was a good one. Then, I rode the Hot Shot. I forgot how fun drop rides are. The last one I need to ride is Gilbeau's Galaxy.

Well, guys, the fun is over. It's time to turn in our locker key and head home. Lockers here cost $10 to rent, but you get $4 back. I am exhausted, but I figured I'd show you this before we go. The Aqua Loops ride behind me looks like a big butt. Now, let's go home to some cute kids.
